Lovely cottage in beautiful Cornish village, dogs welcome too! 5 stars
This is a terrific cottage, comfortably furnished, with everything you need. It had three bedrooms, a sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and little patio outside. It's a traditional terraced fisherman's cottage with lots of charm but also plenty of mod cons like a washing machine and dryer, good sized television and a wood burner. The only sounds at night are the seagulls squawking! The sofa and beds were very comfortable and games and books were on offer. The kitchen and bathroom are downstairs (one floor below the living room) so if you're very tall watch your head! It was spotlessly clean and dogs were welcome. The location is excellent - just a few minutes walk from the harbour, beaches and centre of Porthleven. So you can stroll out the front door and be tucking into coffee or cream tea minutes later, at one of the thriving cafes and restaurants in the village. These range from lovely cafes with home made wares like the The Twisted Currant to Rick Stein's elegant restaurant. The pubs are great too, perfect for sipping a pint looking over the harbour. The nearby beaches, all walking distance, are not crowded and dogs are welcome on one. The village is also very handy for nearby Helston and great places to visit like the seal sanctuary at Gweek. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Thank you Maria and Robert!
